HELLO
FRIENDS!
OUR
SERVICES
My goal is to build a program that is tailored to your needs starting with the basics:
Sit, Down, Attention, Wait at the front door and eye contact.
I have found eye contact is the cornerstone to success. If they are looking at you, even from across the room, giving them a smile and a GOOD boy or girl; you will give them a positive reaction and you get one as well. They learn to give you attention or just check in. This action becomes your life line to them, your connection, the communicating between you.
Learning to communicate through your body language and hand signals, then adding the spoken word to complete the skill being learned will connect the two.
(Did you know…? Dogs do not speak English, they use body language to do most of their communicating. Studies have been done that if you tell a dog who knows how to sit, SIT 100 times, they will sit maybe 5-10 times out of a 100, but if you give them a hand signal for SIT 100 times they will sit 90 - 95 times out of a 100).
Behavior
I will work with you and your dog as a team to prepare you both for a successful and loving life together.
If your dog is fearful or aggressive we will work together to help your dog feel more relaxed and safe in their environment.
Desensitizing techniques are often a successful way to correct unwanted behavior and in some instances we will also be working with your veterinarian.

BEST FRIEND STORIES
TEAL ~ Teal had separation anxiety; I was able to bring her to work at the police department. She was very good with calming and soothing people. The Chief then told me that if Teal stayed, she would need a job. So, I started working with her on detecting Marijuana. She had a great nose! We trained every single day. She found 10 pounds of Marijuana in potato sacks that were in a car that was impounded; and soon after, we also searched a house and found 20 pounds of marijuana under a concrete slab and through the house! She was a gem.
Mallie ~ Mallie was brought to me to see if we could build her confidence. The person was using her to get transportation, food and money for a place to stay. Her coat was grey, she was skinny and had to stay at the vet for 2 weeks. When she was brought to me, I trained her in obedience, tooking care of her fear issues. She loved to learn so we kept going. She helped me with aggressive dogs, invisible fence proofing she knew when the dogs were not ready and would stop the dogs from going through. I had 1 owner make Mallie go through the fence. The owner wanted proof that the dogs were not ready. Mallie also Hunting birds. Her favorite was Search and Rescue; she was certified in area searches and Avalanche. All of these “Jobs” made her confident and trusting. There was a day when she took my car keys out of the ignition and put them in her bed. Did not take me long to find them, that was crazy. Mallie learned to take hugs from kids.

ABOUT
Me
Hi, my name is Barb Williams and I have been training dogs for 22 years and counting! These trainings have varied from a Drug Dog, Bird Dog and a Search and Rescue Dog all the way to great hiking buddies and well behaved family pets. I have always had a connection to animals and they have taught me so much. I would love to share my knowledge with you.
Since graduating from Animal Behavior College in 2002, I have been working with dogs and their owners locally in the Wood River Valley and virtually, thanks to technology! I have continued my studies and training in various areas of animal behaviors receiving certification in the following areas: Obedience and Behavior, Working with Animal Shelter Dogs, Animal Massage Therapy, Animal Nutrition, and Canine Good Citizen through AKC.
With 22 plus years of experience I will help you and your dog with Obedience, Behavior, scent work and various other training. I was a member, with my dog that I trained, of the Blaine County Search and Rescue for several years. My training style is based on manners and building a partnership between you and your dog.
What really sets me apart from your average dog trainer is my intuitive and energetic approach to connecting with your pet. I even include reiki treatments for the dogs I work with in order to more fully support them in a truly holistic manner, creating easier and more rapid results for you and your dog.
